I'm a 3D Artist with roughly 9 years of experience split between the commercial and gaming industries. This past summer I made the decision to take a break from fulltime work so I could recoup from burnout. However, I'm still working via freelance gigs and also trying to complete some personal projects. Ideally, I'll start a new fulltime job come the new year (2024).
As for my skillset, I like to dabble in the whole art pipeline. That makes it hard to really pinpoint my specialty and favorite areas though. If I had to answer, modeling and lighting have been the two disciplines consistently needed throughout my career. I really love animating and tinkering around with motion graphics too, whenever the opportunity arises. I've also discovered that I'm pretty good at teaching and have a habit of collecting detailed notes to pass along as process documentation.
For the last 5 years I've been responsible for concepting out a piece and finalizing it independently- whether that's a still image, a CG model, a VR intro sequence, or an animation- and that has really satisfied my generalist nature. Not to mention I've gained a lot of valuable knowledge along the way from all the different people and departments I've collaborated with. I would love to carry that curiosity and experience with me to whatever my next position may be.
